Straight with you

About us, and how to reach us

The Blue Ridge view from Doe Valley Campground.

Who we are

We are Andrew Livingston and Brent Fowler. We own Doe Valley Campground at 271 Pedro Shoun Lane in Mountain City. We built it ourselves starting in December 2022.

Why we call it Stop DMRA

DMRA stands for the Doe Mountain Recreation Authority. That is the government agency making this decision. It is not the same thing as the Doe Mountain Recreation Area, which is the park itself.

We like the park. We have promoted it, sent people to it, and offered to help it for free.

What we are trying to stop is one project: 20 RV sites and a bathhouse built with public money right beside our campground.

Where we stand

We want to be straight with you. We have a direct business interest in this. We are the campground next door. We are not neutral, and we are not pretending to be. That is exactly why we are showing you the documents instead of asking you to take our word for it.

What we are not saying

We are not against Doe Mountain Recreation Area. We have supported it, promoted it, and offered to help it for free. We are not asking anyone to lose their job. We are asking one thing: do not use tax money to build a campground 50 feet from ours.
